For the water colourist Heinz Kaufmann "ability" is the basis for the implementation of his artistic intentions. He sees water colouring as a game with water the easy almost emotional applying of colours and the well-aimed use of a smooth colour glow and contrasting sharpness. He used these elements intentionally in a sort of kaleidoscope for the HOBart edition.
